It is in fact handicapped adults that work the vineyards and make the wine. They are monitored and supported by a technical team. The Domaine is situated at the foot of the hill of Fontfroide with its pine forests, broom, thyme and rosemary and has over 20 ha at its disposal.
Vinification is carried out on the premises and follows traditional practices, grapes are picked by hand, carbonic maceration.
The aim is to produce a wine of character which has its own identity based on the influence of the climate, the grape varieties, the soil and of course the ‘savoir faire’. The trademark of Corbieres.
For those who work here the benefit is therapeutic. In fact, it sends out a positive message to those handicapped workers. Their efforts are recognised and appreciated which is reflected in the prices achieved by the different wines of the Domaine.
Long round in the mouth, warm with an orangey flourish at the end.
Three gold, silver and bronze medals have been won at the wine fairs of France, Paris, Macon a write up in ‘le Guide Hachette’ and a very favourable mention in ‘le Gault et Millau’ have been the result of this elegant, easy to drink aromatic AOC wine.
